Welcome to Project Paathshaala – the prestigious education program of Vanguards. We
believe that education is the most powerful tool to change the world and every child has
the right to quality education. Our goal is to improve the education standards of
low-resourced schools and provide holistic education to children in need.
Project Paathshaala focuses on providing a comfortable and conducive learning
environment for children. We understand that for a student to have wholesome
education, the environment around him plays a crucial role. That’s why we concentrate
not only on academics, but also on infrastructure. We work to provide basic amenities
like clean drinking water, proper sanitation facilities, and a safe environment to
low-resourced schools so that children can have a comfortable learning experience.
We prioritizes an interactive and engaging approach to learning, incorporating activities
such as chart-making and crafts to enhance the educational experience. To enhance the
educational experience for our students, we offer ongoing teacher training sessions
aimed at enhancing their teaching techniques. Our approach is tailored to each student,
making sure that every student comprehends the lessons taught.
Education and discipline go hand in hand, and we believe that true education must
include both. Our career counseling sessions provide students with the tools they need
to make informed decisions about their future and explore the various options available
to them.
Objectives:
● Improving the facilities and resources available in under-resourced government
schools
● Raising the academic level of each and every student
● Developing skills that align with the modern-day requirements
● Offering individual counseling for personal and emotional support and building
self-esteem
● Offering teacher training and development programs
● Encouraging active participation of parents in the education process.
Ideology:
The Project Paathshaala encompasses two primary components: Education and
Infrastructure. The focus of the Education component is comprehensive and centers
around ensuring full attainment of minimum learning levels, broadening general
awareness, and encouraging community engagement for sustained impact. Based on
national educational policies, minimum learning levels have been established to ensure
uniformity and quality in primary school education. These minimum levels encompass
specific goals in each subject, with the objective that every student should reach these
goals to attain the minimum levels of learning.
How do Vanguards help achieve this?
The approach we take to improve primary education in government schools is through
regular visits by our volunteers who provide supplementary classes to students. These
volunteers are trained in the latest teaching methodologies and strive to provide an
interactive and hands-on learning experience for students. Our methodology also
includes worksheet-based daily learning and a focus on not just academics, but also
skill development, discipline, environmental awareness, and cleanliness. These
elements are taught through practical activities such as morning assemblies,
maintaining clean classrooms, and planting trees. In addition, we aim to enhance the
school infrastructure by providing basic amenities to create a comfortable and
enjoyable learning environment.
Our Impact:
Our impact so far has been tremendous. We have successfully implemented our project
in 7 rural schools around our city and have seen a positive change in the children’s
learning experience. Our activity-based learning sessions have helped children to
develop various skills, and the training sessions for teachers on the methodology of
such learning have had a positive impact on the quality of education being provided.
We have also provided computers to a few schools to help in conducting computer
training sessions, which is vital in today’s technology-driven world. Our efforts in
improving infrastructure have provided schools with basic facilities that make the
learning process more enjoyable.
We are proud to see that the children now attend morning assemblies on time, dressed
in clean and tidy uniforms. The classrooms are also much cleaner and more organized.
The academic standards of the students have improved significantly, which is the main
motivation for us to continue and expand the project.
